SEARCH RESULTS FOR: Story telling
It's that time of year when we take stock, make resolutions and ask questions ... like how can we make this year a winner? Are there too many photographers? Why do we ask our competitors for advice? What can we learn from musicians? And the big one: How much are our images worth? Sadly, that's not just about how good they are or how much time we spend on them in post-production. Our latest client newsletter is below. Let us know what you think by leaving a comment here or emailing Ian directly. Cheers, Nigel How much are your images worth? Girls, here's a tip. Go out and buy yourself a nice big folder. The ring binder type is good. Something that you can keep adding to. Call it your 'Wedding Folder'. The only reason I know anything about this is because Kayla bought a 'Wedding Folder' the day after we got engaged. And the only reason I'm talking about it is because it became our most important wedding planning resource. Kayla divided it up into sections - receipts, ideas, booking forms, correspondence, stationery... that kind of thing. In that folder went everything even remotely related to our wedding: pictures of dresses, hair To View More >>
Like many good things Musée begins with a story. In fact it begins with three stories, and the real magic is how they weave together... The first begins several years ago with a traveller on a bus in Spain, who strikes up a conversation with the woman sitting next to him. They like each other enough to introduce themselves. She's a paper conservator living in England, home to visit her family in Barcelona - and as it turns out, later, in love. The photographer and the conservator like each other enough to swap To View More >>
Your best wedding photos probably won't make it to a magazine ... or win any prizes ... and the reason isn't because you're not Brangelina. It's because other people won't be looking at the pictures through your eyes. Nigel and Kayla invited Heather and I to their wedding, and I've just seen the photos. What really struck me amongst the hundreds of images - and probably because I work with Nigel and know him so well - were a couple of shots that show the rush of emotion he felt when he saw Kayla walk down the aisle. I reckon one day someone might look at those pics and think - or say, "Gee Grandad, To View More >>
Photojunction's new feature is a timesaver. It auto creates an album from a selected template collection, and populates the apertures with images from a selected image Group or Collection. Before we move on, a disclaimer... Auto Flow is a simple feature. There's no clever algorithm built in to choose and place images in a deliberately coherent order. We're leaving some of the creative stuff up to you ;) You'll find the Auto Flow option by clicking the 'More' button in the Event Window. Just click the 'Create album from templates' option and you're away. Photojunction will ask you to choose a Template To View More >>
